![]() That alone would help prevent the sort of massive imbalance of forces you can typically see in most Paradox titles. Distance should also play a factor it should cost Britain more to supply a force across the globe in Alaska than across the English channel in France. I would hope that the warfare systems tie into the transport mechanics such that the available transport in a region limits your ability to support troops in it, with appropriate penalties for offensive forces outside of friendly supply lines. Do you think that underdogs can (still) win? ![]() However, I would love to see this represented in Vic 3 instead of the 2 month ACW that happens in Vic 2 with the CSA getting rolled immediately without player intervention. Yes, this is an incredible oversimplification. They had a distinct disadvantage in men and material but geography and leadership allowed them to drag out the war for years. One example that immediately comes to mind is the CSA during the American Civil War or the Boer Republics. It could be very interesting for countries to be able to focus more on guerilla warfare to potentially negate that men/industry advantage that I mentioned earlier, especially unrecognized nations that are behind in tech. With troops off the map, instead of a nominal attrition ticker, there can be an actual representation of guerilla warfare. On the other hand, I will say that I think that this could lead to a great representation of asymmetrical and guerilla warfare. geography, generals and officer staffs (which could be quite interesting), and technology, it could still happen. I suppose if other factors play into warfare and fronts, i.e. While this is historically accurate, it may limit the sandbox nature that we all enjoy so much about victoria. Without player micro, I feel like this may turn into more men/more industry = winner. ![]() However, one thing that occurred to me about the abstraction of warfare is the ability (or lack thereof) for an underdog to win a war with this system. Disclaimer: This is pure speculation since we know so little about warfare but I think it merits discussionĪfter some initial dismay at the rework of the warfare systems, I am waiting to express any judgment.
